Trisha Yearwood To Receive Inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award At 2024 CMT Music Awards
Trisha Yearwood is known for her charitable heart, scrumptious cooking and infallible voice. On April 7, CMT will celebrate her heart when the network presents Trisha with the inaugural “June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award” during the 2024 CMT Music Awards. Fans can watch in real time as the 2024 CMT Music Awards air live from Austin, Texas, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
The award, inspired by June Carter Cash, recognizes an artist, duo/group or industry veteran who is dedicated to the community and their fellow artists while embodying June’s spirit as a fierce advocate of paying it forward.
Trisha’s extensive charity work includes decades of work with Habitat for Humanity through the Carter Work Project and National Women Build Week. She and her husband, Garth Brooks, were named Habitat Humanitarians in 2016.
In addition, she founded Dottie’s Yard to help animal rescues. The singer supports Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Humane Society, Grammy Foundation MusiCares, Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, Starkey Hearing Foundation, Susan B. Komen Foundation and more.
She also leads the “Five Decades, One Voice” initiative and works closely with the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum where she serves as a legacy keeper to protect country music’s heritage.
Aside from being honored at the 2024 CMT Music Awards, Trisha will also deliver the world-premiere performance of “Put It In A Song,” the first release from her forthcoming album, during the awards show.
