TRISHA YEARWOOD: Christmastime Is Here!
“It’s my favorite holiday.” Those words alone say it all…and explain why Trisha Yearwood is as excited as all of us to know that Christmastime has arrived!
Christmastime – Trisha’s new holiday album (produced by Grammy Award winner Don Was and featuring lush arrangements by legend David Campbell) is available everywhere just in time to became a part of your holiday season…now and for years to come.
“I love these songs,” Trisha says with a smile. “It’s a mix of traditional…a couple of more ‘modern’ songs…and there’s an original song that Garth and I wrote together.” she says.
Highlights include her sweeping orchestral update of “Christmas Time Is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, a soulful new take on Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas,” and a cinematic reimagining of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. “Merry Christmas, Valentine” is the heartfelt original co-written and performed with Garth Brooks. Other tracks include “My Favorite Things,” “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Simple Gifts,” “It’s Just Another New Year’s Eve,” “Cool Yule,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Years” and “Candy Cane Lane.” The twelve-song collection is Trisha’s first holiday album since Christmas Together with Garth…and her first solo one since 1994’s The Sweetest Gift.
“There’s never too early a time to play Christmas music,” Trisha believes…and with good reason! “When people go, ‘I’m not putting up my tree until after Thanksgiving,’ I’m like, ‘I’m putting up my tree November 1st because I want the holiday to get here and I want it to last as long as possible,” she admits. “I want to put up every decoration on the planet…I don’t want to put ’em up and have to take them down in three weeks…so I start listening to Christmas music a little earlier than most people.”
Trisha will celebrate the release of Christmastime with all sorts of activity in the coming weeks, notably with her Christmastime with Trisha Yearwood: 12 Days of Christmas Tour, which will find her performing with local symphonies across the country for much of December!
