The Fab Four's Camille Tambunting Talks One Year of Friends In Low Places Ahead of Anniversary

Bring your favorite FRIENDS to Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's Music City food and music mecca Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk this month to celebrate the bar's first anniversary for the entire month of March.

As we kick off the four weeks of festivities, Garth, Trisha, and several friends who help keep the 54,715-square-foot entertainment complex running like a well-oiled music machine, will share their thoughts on the bar's first year.

Camille Tambunting, Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Hospitality, helps oversee all things at Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk. From the surprise performers to the beloved chicken tenders, Tambunting has loved every minute.

Here are her thoughts on the FILP's first year and its future.

1.What is your favorite memory?

One of my favorite memories was watching Diplo perform Friends in Low Places as part of his set on the Oasis, right before he jetted to Bonnaroo to headline. The entire roof sang along, and everything felt like a synergetic melding of worlds — a renowned DJ + Producer playing Friends in Low Places to a young and vibrant crowd right before a huge music festival in Tennessee on the Oasis. Diplo still wears his "Blame it all on My Roots" hat we gave him pretty frequently. It was a "we did it!" moment for sure!

2.What have you learned?

Despite the largeness of the building and the amount of people we welcome through the doors, it is still possible to make individual people feel special. And all that credit goes to the management team and staff — even in the madness, they're able to make our guests feel like we opened the doors just for them.

3.What has been the biggest surprise?

Honestly, the biggest surprise for me has been our retail shop! We opened the store the weekend of Garth's Nissan show, before the full building, and it's been fun to see how it's grown and developed! We've done pop-up shops and sidewalk sales, and it's great to see folks really digging all the fun merchandise we do. The fun we can have in that square footage is pretty awesome! We try not to keep things static, constantly adding new items, which I think is different than most spots.

4.What do you want to add?

We've had some incredibly talented musicians play on our stages, from local rockstars like Chase Ryan and Jason Cross, to Dustin Lynch to Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I can't wait to add more incredible talent to our roster. The world-class AV, stage, and fans that walk through the door are worthy of it!

5.What do people like the most?

I think I speak for all people when I say Trisha's chicken tenders. The most confident thing I can say about anything in the building is that her chicken tenders are the best anyone has ever had!
