The BIG 615's Storme Warren Honored for His Work with Veterans Causes

Storme Warren, host of The Storme Warren Show on The BIG 615 - the flagship station of Garth Brooks' SEVENS Radio Network - is the latest recipient of the Patriot Award from the Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project. Storme was honored for his work with veterans causes on September 11th in Nashville at the non-profit's 10th annual Patriot Awards!

"My love for Charlie Daniels got me started on this journey [in country music]," Storme noted as he accepted the award, calling the music legend "my hero." He shared that the icon's Million Mile Reflections was the first album he ever purchased as a kid...recounted that Charlie was the first celebrity he ever interviewed...and spoke of a friendship that spanned decades and culminated with being asked to officiate the Country Music Hall of Famer's funeral in 2020. "I learned how to be a patriot and love our veterans and our military because of Charlie Daniels," Storme says. "I accept this proudly...and reluctantly...because we owe you - every one of you in uniform, every one of your family members, everyone we've lost."

"I think the one thing we all need now more than ever is hope. And hope only comes from watching those around us," Garth says. "Storme is constantly that guy...that guy who is there for you when you need someone the most. It makes perfect sense to honor Storme for all he does for our military - past, present and future."

Throughout his career, Warren has championed and supported various causes.Earlier this year, he was also recognized with the Country Radio Broadcasters' Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award, given to individuals in country radio who demonstrate a spirit of caring and generosity in serving their community.

The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project, a nonprofit that supports military veterans and their families, was co-founded by country music legend Charlie Daniels. Each year the organization honors individuals and organizations whose work exemplifies its mission by supporting veterans in their return, rehabilitation and reintegration back into civilian life.
