Making the "Old Stuff" New Again—Garth Brooks Continues the Anthology V Conversation Series on March 31

Garth Brooks continues his 5-part Anthology V conversation series on March 31 with radio/TV host Storme Warren and recording engineer Mark Miller.  Watch it here at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT as they talk about how Garth continued to innovate and share his music in new ways following his retirement.  From remixing and remastering his entire music catalog, to embracing social media, satellite radio, and streaming platforms, he found ways to make the “old stuff” new again.  Listen to the audio live on The Garth Channel and hear highlights on the BIG 615 and Tailgate Radio, all part of The Sevens Radio Network on TuneIn.

The Anthology conversation series celebrates the April 4 release of Garth Brooks’s The Anthology, Part V: The Comeback, The First Five Years at Amazon and TalkShopLive.  Each episode features Garth chatting with the people who made the comeback with him. Past conversations included musicians Mike Palmer (drums), Jimmy Mattingly (fiddle), and Chris Leuzinger (guitar); Anthology author Warren Zanes; singer-songwriter Karyn Rochelle; road manager Bryan Kennedy; and production manager Brian Petree.

Garth continues the series on March 31 with longtime friend and media personality Storme Warren, currently a host on the BIG 615.  Their conversation focuses on how Garth faced the changes in how music was recorded, shipped, listened to, and consumed in the 14 years he spent in Oklahoma.  “If you find yourself whining about the times, your time has passed,” Storme says, launching a discussion of the ways Garth utilized new technology while maintaining the integrity of his music, supporting songwriters, and forging new connections through Monday night conversations on “Inside Studio G.”

The conversation continues with Mark Miller, the softspoken sound engineer on everything Garth has recorded, his producer since 2018, and “the reason stuff sounds the way it does.” Mark explains the role of a sound engineer and describes the intricate process of remixing and remastering Garth’s entire catalog to transition its analog sound from the ‘90s into the digital sound of the 21st century.

The final episode of the Anthology series will stream on April 4, when Trisha Yearwood joins the conversation at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT.The Anthology, Part V: The Comeback, The First Five Years, will be available April 4 at Amazon and TalkShopLive.  It comes with over 150 never-before-seen photos, 6 CDs and 66 songs, including remastered versions of tracks from Garth’s early catalog, road-tested favorites from Man Against Machine and Gunslinger, and live recordings from the World Tour.
