GARTH BROOKS HOSTS AMAZON LIVE EVENT TO CELEBRATE THE RELEASE OF “THE ANTHOLOGY, PART IV: GOING HOME”

Garth Brooks hosted a special Amazon Live event on December 6 to celebrate the release of The Anthology, Part IV: Going Home, the latest and most personal installment in his Anthology series. From the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where he’s performing the last of his residency shows before the holidays, Garth shared stories and songs featured in Anthology IV.  With nearly 200 photos and 6 discs of music, Going Home recounts the fourteen years Garth spent in Oklahoma raising his three daughters and welcoming Trisha Yearwood to the family.

“My favorite thing about Anthology IV is now that it’s in print, time is frozen forever, and the music with it,” Garth said.

Brooks created a 40-minute, once-in-a-lifetime event for Amazon where he answered questions, told stories, and performed more than a dozen songs (click here to view).

"It’s full of music that reflects the time the Anthology is talking about," Garth said. "There was stuff in the vault that I loved to pieces when we cut it back in the ‘90s, but they never had a home or time yet, but on the Lost Sessions they found their home.”

Throughout the special, Garth answered viewers’ questions about Anthology IV and what sets it apart from the other Anthology collections. Noting that Going Home reflects a period of time out of the spotlight, when the public had limited public access to what was going on in his life, Garth credits the people of Claremore, Tulsa, Collinsville, and Owasso for giving him the chance to live a normal life.

“It was a time when I was known as Taylor’s dad, August’s dad, and Allie’s dad,” he said, explaining that stepping out of the spotlight and moving home “was not a sacrifice.  I traded music for something I loved more.”

The one story he can’t wait for people to read?  His conversation with his daughters asking their permission to marry Trisha Yearwood, and their first meal with Trisha.

The Anthology, Part IV: Going Home is available now, along with previous collections in the Anthology series: Part I: The First Five Years, Part II: The Next Five Years, and Part III: LIVE.
