Garth Brooks Celebrates Once-In-A-Lifetime Beddian Birthday With Well-Wishes From Industry/Friends

Garth Brooks celebrated his Beddian Birthday on Wednesday – with a little help from his country music friends.

A Beddian Birthday is when someone turns the same age as the year they’re born.  The once-in-a-lifetime occurrence is named for New York firefighter Bobby Beddia, who made the birthday observation and, according to a story in The New Yorker, was thrilled to reach the milestone himself at 53.

Many of Garth’s country music friends flooded social media to wish him a Happy Birthday on Wednesday.

CMT posted a tribute to Garth on the network’s social media page, which garnered thousands of likes and well wishes from fans.

Jerry Douglas’ Facebook account said: “Happy Birthday Garth Brooks! Here's a major throwback of Garth and Jerry.”

Country Now shared 25 photos of Garth and encouraged readers to leave him some birthday love.

The official George Jones Facebook page chimed in with: “Happy Birthday, Garth Brooks!” They also included a photo of Garth and Jones on stage together.

Countless radio and television stations showed Garth some love, including Nashville’s WKRN News 2. Music City’s local station celebrated Garth’s birthday with a round-up of Garth facts.

The Academy of Country Music wrote:
