Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood: Valentine's Day is Every Day
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have been married for almost 20 years – and they don’t wait for a particular day to celebrate their love.
According to the calendar, Valentine’s Day is this week. But Garth disagrees.
“Valentine’s Day is every day when you are married to the love of your life,” he said. “I know this is going to sound off, but when you think about it, there are three entities in every relationship. There is you. There is your partner. And then you and your partner together.”
Garth pointed out that everyone does things for themselves, and people make nice gestures for their partners. But how often do couples do things for themselves as a couple? Like going to a movie you BOTH want to go see. That's important.
For Garth and Trisha, they try to do things they both like frequently.
“We do jigsaw puzzles together,” Garth explained. “We sit and talk for hours just working on puzzles. We have a two-person chair we sit in and watch movies or sports together. We take sunset rides on the farm, park and talk about how we were raised, what we believe in, etc. These are things we BOTH like to do—and we do it for us as a couple."
