Friends In Low Places Marks Second Anniversary With Monthlong March Gladness Celebration

Two years after opening its doors on Nashville's Lower Broadway, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s  Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk has flourished from a celebrity-backed concept into one of downtown Nashville’s most recognizable gathering spots known for some of the best food in Music City. Now, the four-floor, 54,715-square-foot honky-tonk is marking its second birthday the only way it knows how: with a monthlong party.

The venue turns two on March 7, and the celebration — dubbed “March Gladness” — will stretch across the entire month with SEC basketball watch parties, spring break crowds, St. Patrick’s Day festivities, live shows and playful promotions including $7.77 specials and a free-throw challenge for visiting universities. Special DJs and themed nights — including a Country Night on March 14 — will keep the party going throughout the month.

For Brooks, the heart of Friends In Low Places has always been about connection.

“Our proudest moment is bringing people together — whether it was during the ice storm when we opened up and fed people, or during the SEC Tournament when fans from different university towns are sharing a beer and laughing while pulling for opposite teams,” Brooks says.

Yearwood explains seeing the honky-tonk evolve into exactly what they imagined has been deeply rewarding.

“What I love about Friends in Low Places is that two years later it’s living proof of what we wanted it to be,” Yearwood says. “We’ve been very hands-on with everything — from how it feels when you walk in to the quality of the food. I want it to taste like it would if you came to my house and I cooked it for you.”

Two years in, the couple says the goal remains simple: create a place where people feel welcome, comfortable and ready to celebrate — any night of the week.

Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk is located at 411 Broadway in Nashville. For more information, visit here.
