Garth Brooks has a deep love of baseball, and last week that longstanding adoration for America's pastime drew him to Kansas City's Union Station for a gala honoring the Royals' 1985 and 2015 World Series championship teams.

"It's pretty cool when you step on stage and it's just a stage full of Hall of Famers and future Hall of Famers!" Garth says.

His setlist for the night included a version of Happy Birthday for National Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett, who turned 72 on May 15.

Garth Brooks' heart is as big as Texas for the iconic television series Austin City Limits. This year, as ACL celebrates its 50th anniversary, the feeling is mutual.

To cap the series' fifth decade, ACL will air a special episode at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 3 -- Austin City Limits Hall of Fame Honors Garth Brooks.
