Network also to premiere behind-the-scenes video special
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - On Monday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 p.m. ET Great American Country (GAC) will broadcast the world premiere of the new Garth Brooks’ video with Huey Lewis, covering Lewis’ classic song, “Workin’ For A Livin.’”
The video places Brooks and Lewis in the center of the racing action at Atlanta Motor Speedway, performing on a race track as cars zoom past.
“It’s all about the working man in all of us,” explains Brooks. “All of us have that whole thing of you’re working for Uncle Sam, you’re working for your kids’ education. You’re always working for someone else... I think Huey Lewis brings the essence of the blue collar mentality to it. I’m really enjoying myself working with a guy that’s all heart and soul and at the same time talented. That’s the kind of people I like to hang around with.”
For two weeks, GAC will be the exclusive destination on-air and online for Garth fans to view “Workin’ For A Livin.’” After the premiere, “Workin’ For A Livin” will be incorporated into GAC’s normal video programming blocks. The video will also be available on www.GACTV.com beginning Dec. 17.
Viewers can see how director Jon Small keeps the duo intact thanks to camera tricks and computer animation when GAC premieres Garth Brooks Behind the Video Workin’ For A Livin’, on Jan. 4 (8 p.m. ET). The 30-minute special gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how the video was created from the initial concept meeting to the 10-hour shoot in over 100-degree weather. Plus, Brooks and Lewis decide to have a little fun get into some racing action of their own by taking Small’s rental car around the track for a tag-team joy ride.
“Garth’s collaboration with Huey Lewis on the video and making-of special showcases the best of what his fans love about him,” said Sarah Trahern, senior vice president of programming for GAC. “As Garth continues to bring the best of his music to his fans, GAC is the premier destination on television and online for fans to see his work.”
